HOW TO PAIR YOUR MONSTER SMART LIGHTING* DEVICE IN THE NEW APP:

Step 1: Download the Monster Smart Lighting app from the App Store (for iPhone) or Google Play Store (for Androids).
If you already have the app installed on your smart device, make sure it’s updated to the newest version.

Step 2: Make sure your phone or tablet is successfully connected to the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network that your device will be placed on and ensure that Bluetooth and location are enabled.
Most smart devices can only be set up on a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network because it provides longer ranges and better transmission across the home. However, many newer home Wi-Fi networks are mixed networks that are set to 5GHz by default (e.g., AT&T, Verizon). If this is the case for you, then you may need to access your Wi-Fi router settings or call your Internet Service Provider to create a temporary, separate 2.4GHz network to set up your device.
Open the Monster Smart Lighting app and create an account by following the on-screen instructions. (If you already have an account, make sure to log in.)
Step 3: Plug in your Monster Smart Lighting device and power it on. (For more specific instructions on how to do this, refer to your user manual.)
To enter Pairing Mode, press and hold the button on the controller for 8 seconds or until the product begins flashing blue. (If you have a light bulb, screw in the light bulb to a lamp base and then turn it off and on 5 times rapidly to enter pairing mode.)
Step 4: In the Monster Smart Lighting app, select the “Add New Device” button (or the “+” button on the bottom right side if you already have another Monster Smart Lighting device connected.
Step 5: Choose your device type. Check your product packaging or user manual to identify the Monster product type and category that applies to your device.

Step 6: Once you select your product type, the app will search for nearby devices. If you haven’t already, you may be asked to enable your Bluetooth and Location permissions to make this step easier. IMPORTANT: You must enable Bluetooth and Location to complete setup!
Once your device is located, the app will automatically display it on screen. Find the device that starts with Monster or “MLED” and press “Add.” See the example below for reference.
Step 7: Follow the on-screen instructions to select your home Wi-Fi network and input your password. The pairing process will automatically begin when you press “Next.”
Once the pairing process is complete, your device will receive any available updates from the network. Note that this may take up to 5 minutes, and your device might reboot once the update is finished.
CONGRATULATIONS! Your device is now connected and ready to use on the Monster Smart Lighting app. Note that your smartphone or mobile device does not need to remain on a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network after setup. If desired, you can switch back to a 5GHz network and still use the app to control your Monster Smart Lighting device from anywhere.
